The in vitro diagnostic (IVD) sector of the medical device association recognized a need for a common voice to raise diagnostic issues and development support and solutions. The volume of testing and sophistication of tests (e.g. CDx, Genomics, point of care) are expected to rapidly increase and require additional support.

Although IVDs are used to help diagnose and direct treatment for most patients, this sector wanted to be better recognized and supported. The projected increase in the demand for these new technologies is expected to require additional resources. This segment of healthcare tends to be fragmented and did not have a common voice.

Bring together healthcare sector leaders (including clinicians, institutions, and industry) to develop a common platform and create a common voice to raise issues and help generate solutions.
